January is declared by Presidential proclamation to be National Human Trafficking Awareness Month. The reason for this proclamation is to provide opportunities to gain education and awareness into this insidious industry understanding the signs of trafficking to help protect our children, teens, and young adults from being manipulated into this world, both domestically and internationally.

5-stones is committed to the prevention of and eradicating Sex Trafficking. We provide training and resources about the Sex Trafficking Industry and its dangerous impact.

About 10 years ago 5-stones began a journey to help bring awareness and provide training to students in grades 7th-12th, parents/guardians, faith-based communities, and professional business organizations on the topic of sex Trafficking.

Five years ago, 5-stones created a presentation with three film clips entitled “INNOCENCE SOLD” depicting the lives of a victim/survivor of trafficking, a trafficker, and a friend.

In the past 4 years we have made this presentation to an estimated 28,000+ viewers throughout Wisconsin.

As we are able, we also provide ZOOM presentations outside of the state of Wisconsin per request.

Today’s youth use social media apps more frequently than previous generations and for a variety of reasons, including to connect with friends, family, and others with common interests. Traffickers and predators know these platforms very well and search for individuals to target, manipulate, and exploit.

We believe in continuing education and we regularly update our training material with current and relevant information. We follow new and current trends, legislative actions, and Wisconsin statistics to share with students and educators so we stay ahead of this insidious industry, thus focusing on a Preventive Approach vs. Reactionary approach.

Sex Trafficking, technology, and the various dangers in life continue to evolve. Through all these changes, dangers and uncertainty, know that 5-stones is committed to adapting and helping our communities through our training.

You can help 5-stones with our mission “to protect those who have no voice, protect our youth.”
